The IPF has been serving as the umbrella body for amateur photography in Ireland for over thirty years and is Ireland’s representative body at the UNESCO recognised International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP)

Its purpose is the promotion of photographic art under all its aspects and by all kinds of photographic events. It also provides International affiliation of national bodies.
