Competition No.1 Open

"Anything Goes" - The subject is entirely up to you. Whether it's landscapes, portraits, still life, or any other genre, this is your chance to showcase your favourite photographs. Share your best work, demonstrate your technical skills, and express your unique perspective through your chosen subjects.

Competition No.2 Orange

This is your chance to explore the myriad aspects and meanings of the colour orange, from its bold and energetic hues to its cultural and personal significance, and present your unique interpretation. Consider the fiery sunsets, the intricate details of an orange blossom, or the warmth of autumn leaves. Perhaps your work reflects the joy of the orange colour spectrum, the diversity of its shades in nature, or the simple beauty of a single orange object.
Any image where the colour orange is either the dominant colour or provides a bold highlight is suitable for this competition.

Competition No. 3 Monochrome

The theme for the monochrome photo competition focuses on the exploration of light, shadow, texture, and form using a single colour or shades of one colour, most commonly black and white. You can express creativity through the contrast between light and dark, highlighting details that might be overlooked in colour photography. Your photos should convey emotion, depth, or narrative in a way that is enhanced by the absence of colour.

Competition No.4 Travel

Travel photography isn't just about recording your trip; it's about capturing the feeling, the culture, and the unique characteristics of a location. It encompasses various genres, including landscapes, people, street scenes, architecture, food, wildlife, and aerial shots.

Competition No.5 ICM & Creative

Unleash your creativity and push the boundaries of traditional photography techniques in this competition. Embrace the artistic possibilities of double and multiple exposures, intentional camera movement, and other experimental methods to create abstract and
impressionistic images. Blend reality with imagination, capture ethereal moments, and let your unique vision come to life through captivating and unconventional compositions. This competition celebrates the fusion of creativity and technical skills, inviting participants to explore new dimensions of visual expression. All components of the image must be from the member’s own images. (deleted interpretation, people can be inspired by other people’s work and can use various blending modes in Photoshop to create the image, as long as all the layers are from the person’s own images)

Competition No. 6 Images from Outings & Workshops

Images during the period from September 2025 to February 2026 during any of the club outings and/or workshops.

Closing date 09-Feb

Panels competition

This competition does not count towards any awards or photographer of the year. It is entirely for the education and enjoyment of the members.
There will be 5 digital entries per panel (see PowerPoint presentation on constructing a panel on the club website)
Each member can submit multiple panels, these will be judged as per other competitions.

Closing Date 30-Mar 2026

Print Of the Year Competition (POTY)

There will be a maximum of 2 entries per member for this competition. Only print format will be accepted. Submitted images must have been previously entered into the club competitions in the current year. No new images will be accepted into this competition.
Images previously submitted in digital format CAN be used in this competition, however for the POTY competition, they can only be submitted as a PRINT.
Submissions to POTY will not be judged in separate categories.

Closing Date 13-Apr 2026

Note: the judges ruling in each competition is final. Remember, no indication of the members identity (name or membership number) should appear on the print itself (back of) or included in the digital submissions.

The “Photoentry” generated serial number should be included.
The “Photoentry” instructions for submitting images (print and digital) can be found in the club website.
